What Are The Best Video Settings? – Mobile

  • Audio
    • Attention to your audio is KING. People will watch a bad quality video if the audio is good, but not the other way around. We would recommend purchasing a lavaliere microphone that plugs directly into your phone, a small mounted boom microphone, or using a second cell phone closer to the source of the audio.
  • 24 or 60 fps
    • 24 frames is more cinematic, 60 fps lets us do slow motion with the footage
  • Horizontal not Vertical
    • It’s tempting to hold your phone vertically, but holding it horizontally will help keep your video in a more regular format
  • High resolution
    • Keep your resolution on it’s highest setting
  • Video Stabilization
    • If your phone has a stabilization option and you aren’t using a gimbal or tripod we would recommend turning on your stabilization.
  • White Balance
    • Auto white balance can change the colors of your footage, taking an extra second to choose the right white balance setting will keep your camera from shifting colors during your shoot.
    • A good example of this color shift is in green screen footage. If the white balance isn’t correct, removing the green screen can become difficult due to the colors changing over time.
